Fire Alarm Cables:
Fire Alarm Cables are specialized Electrical cables designed for the transmission of signals In Fire Detection and Alarm Systems. They ensure reliable operation of smoke detectors, heat detectors, alarms, and control panels during normal and emergency conditions.
Key features of Fire Alarm Cables
- Fire-Resistant Construction is designed to maintain circuit integrity and signal transmission during fire conditions.
- Low Smoke & Halogen-Free (LSHF/LSZH) ensures minimal emission of toxic gases and smoke for safe evacuation.
- High Temperature Withstanding Capacity can operate reliably under elevated temperatures during fire incidents.
- Flame Retardant Jacket prevents flame propagation and reduces risk of fire spread.
- Mechanical Strength provides durability against physical stress, bending, and installation wear.
- Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Protection Shielded versions are available to prevent signal distortion.
- Reliable Signal Transmission ensures uninterrupted communication between detectors, alarms, and control panels.
Standard :
Compliance with Safety Standards conforms to international standards like BS 7629, BS 6387, IEC 60331, UL, or equivalent.
Color Coding & Identification:
Usually red outer sheath for easy identification as fire alarm wiring.

Types of Fire Alarm Cables:
- FPL (Fire Power Limited) Cable: Standard fire alarm cable suitable for general fire alarm circuit wiring. Usually it has a red PVC jacket for easy identification.
- FPLR (Fire Power Limited Riser) Cable : Designed for vertical applications (between floors). Prevents fire from spreading vertically through riser shafts. It is commonly used in multi-storey buildings.
- FPLP (Fire Power Limited Plenum) Cable : Specially rated for plenum spaces (air circulation areas, HVAC ducts). Low-smoke, flame-retardant jacket. Prevents toxic smoke release during fire.
- Shielded Fire Alarm Cables : Comes with an aluminum foil shield or braid. Protects signals from electromagnetic interference (EMI). Used in areas with heavy electrical equipment or radio frequency interference.
- Unshielded Fire Alarm Cables : No shielding layer. Cost-effective and used in low-interference environments.
- Armored Fire Alarm Cables : Protected with steel wire armor. Provides mechanical protection in harsh or outdoor environments. Used in industrial plants and underground installations.
- Twisted Pair Fire Alarm Cables : Conductors are twisted together to minimize crosstalk and interference. Often used in data, signal transmission, and control circuits within fire alarm systems.
Fire Alarm Cables application industries:
- Commercial Buildings: Offices, shopping malls, multiplexes, hotels, educational institutions.
- Residential Complexes: Apartments, housing societies, gated communities.
- Healthcare Sector: Hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, laboratories.
- Industrial Facilities: Manufacturing plants, processing units, warehouses, power plants.
- Transportation Infrastructure: Airports, railway stations, metro stations, bus depots.
- Data Centers & IT Parks: For continuous fire monitoring and alarm systems.
- Government & Defense Establishments: Administrative buildings, defense facilities.
- Hospitality & Entertainment: Theatres, resorts, convention centers, stadiums.
- Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Industry: Refineries, terminals, offshore platforms.
- Energy & Utilities: Power generation plants, substations, renewable energy facilities.
